The Willowbrooke aged care community will benefit from a $1,000 grant thanks to long-time VMCH volunteer Raelene Olsen.

Raelene – who visits Willowbrooke weekly with her lovely Labrador Harry – nominated Willowbrooke via her employer ExxonMobil Australia’s Volunteer Involvement Program (VIP).

Through the initiative, all ExxonMobil employees in Australia have the opportunity to nominate the not-for-profit community groups with which they volunteer to receive a $1,000 grant.

“I was thrilled to be successful,” said Raelene. “There were 86 other people who nominated for the grant and every one of them was also successful. We are happy the funds will help to enhance the wellbeing of Willowbrooke residents.”

VMCH Volunteer Services Manager Bronwyn Summers said the grant would be used for extra craft activities, wellness programs and a CD player.

“We are very grateful to Raelene for all that she does for VMCH and for nominating us as part of the ExxonMobil VIP Grant Program.  It is truly wonderful that ExxonMobil supports their employees and their local communities in this way.”

Raelene has successfully nominated VMCH for three grants since 2015, two for Willowbrooke and one for Lilydale Respite House.
