Our small group program, at the Star Café in Torquay, aims to give people the job skills for future employment in customer service and hospitality.

Located within our modern Star of the Sea Aged Care Residence and retirement village community, the Star Café is a learning hub for people to gain real work experience in a safe and supported setting.

A little about you…

You are ready to build new job skills toward permanent paid employment or volunteering.

You have NDIS and/or School Leavers funding.

You are a school leaver or person ready for the next steps.

You love working with people and have an interest in hospitality.

What will we provide?

  • One to one support to learn at your pace
  • A tailored program so you can reach your goals. You will stay with the program until you are ready to take the next steps toward finding a job or another pathway
  • Choice in the program workdays to suit your schedule, between Monday to Friday, 9am to 3pm
  • Work experience and training with experienced hospitality professionals, uniforms, equipment
    and supports to find and transition to employment when you are
  • Training in skills such as customer service, coffee making and barista, baking and cooking, handling cash and using point of sale equipment, planning catering and events
  • Links to our Employment Partners program and transition support when you are ready to start a job or volunteer role.
