Join our nine-week Active Minds program 

What is Active Minds?

The Active Minds program encourages people with dementia to adapt and form new connections through brain stimulation. These evidence-based principles are used to improve cognitive function, enhance mental engagement and quality of life.

The nine-week program focuses on the exchange of ideas to engage participants and slow the progression of dementia.

Cost: $7 per session

Who benefits from Active Minds?

Active Minds exists to help people with dementia, who experience mild to moderate cognitive impairments. This might mean having difficulty with cognitive tasks like planning, thinking or remembering.

To be eligible to participate in Active Minds you will need to belong to the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) and have the relevant Occupational Therapy referral code.

What happens in an Active Minds session?

Active Minds sessions are facilitated by an Occupational Therapist with activities tailored to participants abilities. The 75-minute sessions involve music, memories and games to help boost thinking and attention skills.
