Cabrini Australia Chief Executive Sue Williams said the organisation was responding to the changing care needs of its community.
Cabrini Ashwood has been a significant and highly-valued part of our service for 20 years and we are very proud of the high-quality, compassionate care our team has provided to residents and their families during this time.
“We remain committed to meeting the needs of our community and will continue to do this through our acute hospital services and our growing out-of-hospital care services.
“We are confident in our decision to transfer Cabrini Ashwood to VMCH, which has a strong alignment to our own mission, vision and culture.”
VMCH is a large and trusted provider of aged care services, with more than 100 years of experience and a strong reputation. The purchase builds on the organisation’s existing portfolio of 13 aged care residences across Victoria, and will extend its reach into a new locale in Melbourne’s south east.
The transfer of operations is set to occur mid-September 2022, subject to confirmation of the date with several Government departments.
