Thank you. Something so simple to say, can mean so much. On 7 August, we are celebrating our amazing aged care staff and saying thank you for the work they do every day.

Aged Care Employee Day is led and coordinated by Leading Age Services Australia (LASA). It is a national day to say thank you to the more than 365,000 dedicated people who care for and support around 1.3 million older Australians who receive care and services each year.

Voula Yankoulas, VMCH General Manager, Residential & Retirement Services says each of VMCH’s aged care employees make a huge difference to the lives of others every day.

“Aged Care Employee Day is designed to celebrate each, and every team member involved in caring for people who receive aged care services, and today is a day for us to recognise and celebrate their contribution to the care our wonderful residents receive across our residences.

“There are a lot of people who keep the wheels turning at our aged care residences, and they do a magnificent job. From the nurses and care workers, to the cooks and hospitality teams, to the drivers, cleaners and laundry employees, to the volunteers, to the leisure and lifestyle officers and administration teams.

“This is why we are celebrating Aged Care Employee Day across each of VMCH’s aged care residences and have asked our Residential Services Managers to nominate a particular staff member for their outstanding work, their caring nature, good attitude, and their belief in VMCH’s vision, mission and values.”

“Congratulations to all those who were nominated, it is much deserved. I’d like to pass on my sincere thanks to all of our staff, you all do a magnificent job, and our residents benefit greatly from the care provided by you all.”
