VMCH is a large organisation with a variety of services, supporting people with different needs and from all walks-of-life.

A great aspect of belonging to such a diverse community is the opportunity for people to get more involved in the organisation, or within other services they never knew existed.

VMCH Fundraising and Volunteering teams have teamed up to host ‘Get Involved Morning Teas’ at our retirement communities, sharing photos and stories from across the organisation on the ways people can be involved including through op shops, fundraising events, donating, volunteering, or even helping to make Christmas hampers.

VMCH Grants and Bequests Officer Sandra Rosano said feedback from the events had been positive.

“Many residents are volunteers for a number of organisations and didn’t know they could also volunteer with VMCH and engage in our community.”

After hearing the presentation, one Athelstan resident, Jean (pictured), donated a lovely quilt she had handmade to one of our aged care residents.
