VMCH recently got the chance to say a big thank you to one of the generous supporters of its project to renovate an important space for children and adults with disability in Wantirna South.
Thanks to an enormous amount of community support, more than $130,000 was raised to give the indoor and outdoor spaces of VMCH’s Flexible Respite Service in Wantirna an amazing facelift.
The Melbourne Catholic Archbishop’s Charitable Fund was one of the major supporters of this project and generously donated $24,000 towards the refurbishment of the indoor space.
The space was re-modelled into a modern, interactive and calming environment for 200-plus children and adults with disabilities.
Additions included a sensory garden, cubby house, climbing equipment, an indoor space with new furniture and toys and a kitchen upgrade. This has enormously improved the way people enjoy the space and how staff deliver the much-needed programs in Wantirna.
VMCH would like to sincerely thank the Melbourne Catholic Archbishop’s Charitable Fund and all the other generous supporters of this project.
We would especially like to thank Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne (CAM) Media and Communications Director, Shane Healy and CAM Manager of Philanthropy, Julie Owens, for visiting the newly refurbished space.
