Small group programs, for adults, teenagers and children with NDIS funding based in Wangaratta and Ararat. Learn new skills and meet new friends; we’ll help you gain the confidence and experience to take the next steps in life.

Life Skills Programs in Wangaratta

Pathways 2 Possibilities (P2P)

Pathways 2 Possibilities is a program run in central Wangaratta for young adults wanting to transition from school to employment or beyond.

This program runs from 9 am-3 pm five days a week, and can be attended part-time or full time. Interested students are studying a Certificate Two in Transitional Education, with or partner, the Centre.

Cre8

At our Cre8 shed in the Wangaratta industrial estate we work together to produce unique wooden items to sell.

We learn about woodwork and work safety, tool handling, design art and paint, and project management on large and small scale projects.

Cre8 runs:

  • 9.30am to 3pm Monday, Wednesday and Friday for adults 18 +
  • 9.15 am to 2.45pm Thursday for secondary students
  • After school Monday, Wednesday and Friday (three hours sessions) as part of the afternoon activities program for children and teenagers from local schools
  • We are now taking enquiries for a new Shepparton program.

Independent Supports

Our individual supports and Dream Building Program runs every day all year, to support you live your life. We help people daily activities such as with shopping, cooking, exercise, homecare, attending appointments, or just having fun.

We match you to a VMCH support worker with similar interests so that together you can work towards your goals.

Afternoon Activities (ANA)

For children and teenagers.

The afternoon activities group is all about socialising and building on skills. Our popular activities include cooking, swimming, and bowling, bushwalking, art, and games.

Cooking Group

Every Thursday for three hours we hold a lunchtime cooking group. A nutritious lunch is prepared and
enjoyed together in our dedicated kitchen. Cooking skills are practiced in a supported environment.

Young Adults Social Night

Every second Friday we hold mixed social nights for young adults aged 18-25. Pubs, pool, bowling,
pizza, BBQs, trips out of town and many other activities are enjoyed. We like to plan our
next adventure together.

Our group is growing fast and planning some weekend day trips.

Ladies Night

One of our best-kept secrets is Friday ladies’ night – we have seen some fabulous shows, enjoyed some glittery dinner dances, and formed some lifelong friendships.

Our Friday night Ladies group are for women over 18 years, get together twice a month.

School Holiday Program

For children and teenagers.

The school holiday program runs for six hours each day, in every school holidays. Each school holidays there are one or two camps and many activities. Activities include snow trips, gold panning, laser tag, Melbourne camp, trampoline world, and Sovereign Hill camp.

This year we have some exciting new activities you have never tried before!

We have holiday trips for adults, teenagers and children.

Holidays are started with a dream, and our staff turns dreams into reality.

LOL Rainbows Group

The Ararat LOL Rainbows group meets to Laugh Out Loud and enjoy activities and special outings. Both men and women welcome. Fees apply.

When: Every second Thursday, 9am – 12pm.

LOL Sapphires Group

The Ararat LOL Sapphires group meets to Laugh Out Loud and enjoy activities and special outings. Both men and women welcome. Fees apply.

When: Every second Tuesday, 1pm – 4pm

Merry Men’s Social Group

Learn new skills and enjoy group activities based on your interests. Activities include fishing, Men’s Shed, bush-walking and other social outings. Meet new people who share your interests and hobbies. Some fees may apply.

If you’re NDIS funded and want to get out and about in the Community, then our social group is your calling. Make new friends, develop your confidence, discover new Adventures, learn new skills and most of all, have fun!

Especially for young people aged 18 – 30 years old.
