What is residential aged care?

Residential aged care, or nursing home care, provides 24/7 support for older people who can no longer live independently. At VMCH, we offer personal care, medical assistance, accommodation, and lifestyle services to ensure comfort and wellbeing.

Unlike retirement living, aged care is for those needing higher support to stay safe. While care is ongoing, residents are welcome to go on outings with family, friends, or staff—we encourage it!

What is respite care?

Respite care is a short stay in an aged care home, offering the same care and services as permanent residents. Stays typically start from two weeks, with government funding available for up to 63 days per year. It’s ideal after a hospital stay or when carers need a break.
