Filipino community for seniors

Our Multicultural Wellness Centre in Wantirna offers a place for seniors with a Filipino background to connect. Together the Filipino community enjoy outings, cultural events and group activities.

Culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) people, especially over the age of 65, are very likely to experience loneliness. The Filipino Group meets regularly to participate in fun group activities that helps ease that loneliness.

By bringing together like-minded people, the Filipino Community can help you or a loved one join an inclusive and welcoming community that provides a sense of purpose.

Meet Lyn

Lyn Lane has been a member of the Filipino Community Group for almost two years. After her husband passed away, Lyn felt isolated and vulnerable, and was in search of a way to re-connect with the community.

“Since I’ve started here, I felt good straight away.” she says. “I have the most fun here and I get along with everyone. I’ve made so many friends.’’
