Locals may have noticed a coffee van parked on our site facing Fernhurst Grove, open to site workers and the local Kew community.
This is no ordinary coffee van. Where is My Coffee is a social enterprise operated by VMCH, serving up delicious coffee and life changing opportunities for people with disability. Of the 2.1 million Australians of working age with a disability, just under half are employed (47.8%), compared with 80.3% of people without disability.
VMCH run programs that create work opportunities for people with disability in the areas of retail, hospitality and gardening, giving people on the job skills, confidence and experience. This is just one example of the mission-based work undertaken by VMCH, which includes the development of affordable housing and specialist disability accommodation.
Pop in for a coffee and a toastie or a sweet treat!
