Sometimes the most valued gifts don’t come with a price tag.
It’s hard not to get caught up in the consumer-driven culture of Christmas – but the true meaning of Christmas is all around us, especially across the VMCH community.
Each year VMCH relies on donations from generous folk like you to ensure hundreds of vulnerable people receive a little joy at Christmas through our hamper appeal.
It’s been an especially tough year for many. The cost of living has pushed people to the brink, with nothing left to spend on luxuries. For some, even the necessities are out of reach.
This year will be our biggest hamper drive yet, with 850 people in need across our affordable homes, home care, and disability services.
Our VMCH community has heard the call – and our people are contributing in any way they can to make sure our hampers reach as many people as possible…
Will you join our incredible community and help us share the real meaning of Christmas?
Donate to our Christmas Hamper Appeal
“We all (residents) really appreciated the hampers and were very pleased to get one. I think it means a lot to a lot of people, especially if they’re alone (around Christmas). There is a beautiful saying that goes a bit like this … Everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about. Be kind always.” says affordable homes resident Bobbie.

Other recipients also tell us receiving items such as food, decorations, toiletries and toys makes them feel less alone.
“One of my clients who received a Christmas hamper last year rang to say how grateful she is to VMCH for thinking of her,” one of our staff members recalls. “She is caring for her Mum and is quite socially isolated.”
Any donation, big or small, will make a huge difference.
So, if you would like to have a hand in brightening someone’s Christmas who really needs it this year, please consider donating to our 2024 Christmas Appeal.
