Volunteer with us and make a difference in people's lives

Our volunteers are an integral part of VMCH and make an invaluable contribution to the services we offer. Our 440 volunteers generously give their time and expertise to really make a difference to the people we support.

The value of volunteering

Volunteering with VMCH is a deeply rewarding experience, not just for the people we support, but for our volunteers too
Our volunteers come from all walks of life, bringing diverse skills, backgrounds, and experiences to their roles. Whether supporting aged care residents, people with disability, or students, each volunteer makes a meaningful impact and gains just as much in return. We’d love to welcome you to the team and help you make a positive difference in the lives of others and your own.

What to expect as a VMCH volunteer

Time Commitment
Depending on the type of volunteer role, on average we ask for approximately a two to four hour weekly commitment. We recognise people all have different availability due to personal circumstances such as work, family commitments etc. and so we work with applicants to find a role that suits them.

Support and Training
All volunteers receive a full induction, role description and ongoing support from their supervisor, staff and fellow volunteers. In addition, all volunteers will complete online training modules and have access to the organisation’s Employee Assistance Program.
