Lunch and Learn Session
The first Lunch and Learn Session was held on Wednesday 18 September hosted by Chris Coughlin with guest speaker Adam Jahnke, found of UMPS Health. If you missed the presentation, you can check out the video located on the Strategy and Innovation page on The Hub.

VMCH Customer Service Centre
Commencing on 1 November 2019, At-Home and Disability Services will begin the process of consolidating intake to create one Customer Service Centre.
The VMCH Customer Service Centre will be located at Wantirna, with Customer Service Team members also located in our regional offices. This is an exciting phase in our development, as we implement a process which will see our clients at the centre of our broad range of services.
A centralised intake team reflects our future direction in consolidating our enquiry and intake services. This will assist in optimising communication with our clients and ensure they are referred to the appropriate service and are supported through their introduction to VMCH.
We are currently in the process of recruiting a Customer Service Manager and will be implementing a new Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to assist the team with new enquiries.
The Customer Service Centre will provide invaluable support and be an important source of information on how we can continue to improve customer service and the services we offer.

The team aim to have all departments moved to The Hub by the end of 2019 and we are well on track. Mission most recently moved to The Hub with the big migration recently of Policies and Procedures. People Services are currently designing their new space with IT, Finance and parts of At Home and Disability Services.

Our new Docklands café
VMCH have taken the plunge into social enterprise with our participation in a new café located at the Docklands library. It is a fantastic location with great amenities and views of the water.
The café provides a great opportunity to build on our employment pathways for clients with disability. Opportunities to learn hospitality skills will be provided and most importantly the chance to work in the community.
This exciting partnership includes PAWS, Degani Cafes and Thamarrurr Youth Indigenous Corporation.
The benefit of operating our own social enterprise is that we can create opportunities for the people we support and develop networks and partnerships to further our reach in the community.

SENVIC was established to build a connected community of social enterprises, to facilitate access to learning and development opportunities, and to give practitioners an independent and collective voice. The new Ideas/Innovation Funnel
The VMCH Innovation/Ideas Funnel is a portal located on The Hub which has been set up to capture ideas that can’t be brought to life in existing teams or operational environments.
The portal captures ideas from any staff member across the organisation and assesses merit based on a series of questions.
Ideas will be assessed based on how they support the VMCH strategic themes of Exceptional Quality of Life, Operational Excellence and Significant Growth. For each quarter over a 12-month period up to three ideas will be selected for a funded trial.
We are doing this is to encourage employees to share your ideas and provide a pathway for turning ideas into action and sharing knowledge across the organisation.
To get things started we are offering three Gold Class Movie Vouchers to staff who submit in the first quarter.
