St Paul’s College Bridging Program

St Paul’s College Bridging Program offers a year of additional preparation for entry into Foundation level for students diagnosed with a disability or developmental delay that affects their learning.

The educational programs developed by St Paul’s College integrate play-based learning with early school structures and curriculum.  Students also have access to therapy services as required.

The Bridging Program works in partnership with parents and the mainstream school of the parents’ choice to facilitate transition into that school.

The program offers the following:

  • Extended opportunity for play-based and experiential learning
  • Appropriately adapted early school curriculum in the areas of English, maths, science, the arts, technology and physical, personal and social learning
  • Graded introduction to structures and routines encountered in school
  • Therapy programs integrated into classroom and playground activities
  • Supported inclusion into the mainstream school of the parents’ choice

Eligibility

Admission is open to any child with a disability or developmental delay that affects his/her learning, and for whom a further year of preparation would make a substantial difference to the success of his/her entry into a Foundation class at the mainstream school of the parents’ choice.

Referrals

Referrals can be made by parents, early childhood intervention workers, therapists or medical practitioners.
